Dallas – Oct. 1, 2024 – Axis Energy Services LLC and Brigade Energy Services LLC jointly announce the closing of an agreement to merge. The companies will form the nation’s largest and most innovative well servicing company with a highly trained workforce.
The merger combines two high-growth organizations. Both companies have pioneered new ways to create value for an oil and natural gas industry seeking greater efficiency, agility, and sustainability.
The new organization will operate as Axis Energy Services LLC and remain headquartered in Dallas.
Expanded Scale and Service Capabilities
The transaction positions Axis as a leading provider of completion services, workover solutions, and plug and abandonment operations. The company now has more than 1,700 employees and 200 active and marketable workover rigs. This fleet may be the largest in the industry.
Axis also operates a market-leading support equipment fleet. This includes 50 cement pump trucks, 26 wireline trucks, 15 snubbing units, nearly 200 pumps, and a large inventory of BOPs and pipe handlers.
Nationwide Presence Across Key Basins
The combined company has a strong presence in major U.S. oilfields. These include the Permian, Haynesville, Eagle Ford, Utica/Marcellus, Bakken, and the broader Rockies. Teams can deploy quickly to locations across the continental United States.
Leadership Perspective on the Merger

The merger follows Axis’ successful deployment of the industry’s first fully electric well service rig. The EPIC (Electric-Powered Intervention & Completion) Rig currently operates on wells managed by Occidental Petroleum.
The EPIC Rig™ improves safety and efficiency. It also runs on grid power, reducing emissions and increasing fuel flexibility.
