Axis Energy Services has appointed Tommy Taylor to the newly created position of Vice President of P&A Services. He is leading the company’s new venture into the plug and abandonment arena and is responsible for all its business, engineering, and financial objectives.
Tommy brings nearly 40 years’ experience in oilfield services, and in particular in P&A operations. His focus has been primarily in the Texas market, and has also plugged wells in every major basin in the U.S. He has worked for large well service organizations, started and operated his own company, and most recently comes to Axis from Basic Energy Services.
“We are very excited to have Tommy Taylor join us to lead our new P&A Division,” says Dirk Lee, Axis President and CEO. “He has an extensive background in P&A operations and brings both professional experience and an entrepreneur’s drive to our business. We view the growing backlog of abandoned and orphaned wells as a great opportunity to bring our revolutionary digital platform CORE and custom-built equipment to address this growing market. We have asked Tommy to lead this exciting endeavor for us.”
Tommy has hit the ground running and is currently underway working on an expansion of our P&A operations base in South Texas.
“I am very pleased to join Axis and excited at the company’s approach to addressing the large backlog of wells,” says Tommy. “Every well’s different, and every condition is different, and these wells must be abandoned in a comprehensive, customized, and environmentally sound manner. I feel I have joined a great team of professionals who are dedicated to doing the job right and treating our customers well.”
