Did you know that stick pipe improves hole cleaning efficiency? Actual hole cleaning can be a challenge for coil, due to the lack of rotation of the tubing string and reduced annular velocity. These factors limit the ability to bring debris to the surface. Stick pipe’s larger diameter and rotation creates a viscous coupling effect that carries solids from the side of the wellbore up to the high side, where the fluid stream’s flow rate is greatest, improving wellbore cleaning and production.
